Meet Cheyenne
Dear AFS and Quest Supporters,
I would like to show my gratitude to the people who made it possible for me to participate in the summer study abroad program in South America this past summer. I want you to know how much you are appreciated. I feel very blessed to have had this opportunity that would not have otherwise happened without your gracious donations.
I not only love the Spanish language, I also love to travel and your donations allowed me to move one more step forward in reaching my dream of experiencing new things while traveling all around the world. I had the pleasure of not only improving my Spanish skills, but also trying new foods, meeting new people, and forming a forever bond with my Paraguayan family.
The language program in Paraguay also made me realize that I have to work double as hard now that I am back if I plan to truly learn to fluently speak Spanish because it was far from an easy transition while there. But, thanks to my Paraguayan family I made it through and as a result, now that I’m back, I am definitely up for the challenge.
Since I’ve returned, I decided to take on a double major so in addition to becoming a Chemical Engineer I will also major in Spanish Foreign Language. I’ve already enrolled in a Spanish conversation class at Florissant Valley Community College as I am dual enrolled during my senior year of high school.
I would like all of you to know that I am truly grateful and I thank you for believing in me and supporting my dreams.
